What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is all about relaxing and restoring! Our bodies and minds need time to rest, and there is so much healing that can come from simply be-ing.
In this one-hour practice, we will do anywhere from 5-7 poses, holding each pose for 5-10 minutes. Each pose will be supported with props - blocks, blankets, and bolsters - which give you the chance to really relax into a posture, allow for stillness, and provide time for your body and mind to heal. We will also incorporate gentle breathing techniques and visualizations to integrate physical healing with energetic healing, putting you on a path to whole, well being.
If you are interested in joining this class, please make sure you have the following:
• A place where you can spread out on the floor and feel safe and supported
• A yoga mat
• Props: bolsters, blankets and blocks. You can purchase these specific things from a retail or online store, or use what you have around your house - couch cushions, pillows and blankets
• An open mind and heart
