Taking control of your health

Research has shown that diet and exercise can play an important role in cancer prevention. Managing nutrition and exercise is one of the best ways to take control of your health and participate in your cancer recovery. You can contact your health care provider for referrals to nutritionists and exercise programs. Below are providers in the Denver area that women of Nicki's Circle would like to suggest.

Nutrition

Colleen Gill, M.S., R.D.
"Colleen Gill is a nutritionist, Registered Dietitian, nutrition education speaker and author with 16 years experience working at the University of Colorado Hospital. Her 12 years of inpatient experience included work with pediatric, renal, bone marrow transplant and cancer patients." See info>>

Dr. Jeanne Wallace, PhD, CNC
Dr. Wallace has worked with several women of Nicki's Circle to customize a nutritional program for them to fight ovarian cancer. See info>>

Exercise

CancerFit Program
TThe Cancer Fitness Institute, formerly known as Summit Cancer Solutions, is an organization that has provided exercise programs directly to cancer survivors for over twelve years and has helped over 1,400 cancer survivors. CancerFit is now sponsored by the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association, with recreation centers and other facilities across Colorado and Minnesota offering the trademarked CancerFit program to cancer survivors .
