COCA members want to make a difference in the battle against ovarian cancer. We are determined to save more women's lives by advocating for excellence in health care for women and increased research concerning the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer. These advocacy efforts help build a strong network of support and identify strategic partners in our goal of greater awareness about ovarian cancer and the means to battle this disease.

In order to reach our advocacy goals, we continue to build a strong network of strategic partners including:

  • Ovarian Cancer Fund Alliance
  • Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment
  • Colorado Cancer Coalition
  • Colorado Ovarian Cancer Advisory Panel
  • University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • 9Health Fairs
  • Members of the Colorado House of Representative and Senate

COCA Public Policy Committee

Volunteer with COCA's public policy committee to make sure our voice is heard at various health coalitions in Colorado. Members of the public policy committee also work with the State Legislature and Congress to make sure that any new legislation that affects women with ovarian cancer is thoroughly vetted and supported by COCA. Support Adequate Federal Funding to Conquer Ovarian Cancer

  • The Center for Disease Control of the Dept of Health and Human Services, U.S. Government, has an ongoing initiative to investigate ovarian cancer.

  • The NCI is part of the National Institutes of Health, currently advancing research on ovarian cancer.

  • While it seems strange that the majority of funding for ovarian cancer research comes from the Department of Defense, this is where some of the most important work for ovarian cancer has been done over the last couple of years.
