Nicki's Circle North Ovarian Cancer Support Group meets at Kaiser Permanente Rock Creek, on the campus of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, east of Boulder, on the fourth Monday, of each month, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The group is held on the lower level in Room Aspen Creek 2. See attached flyer for details. Please feel free to bring a snack, questions, and your hopes and fears. The group offers a safe and supportive atmosphere for gaining information, expressing your concerns, sharing emotions and broadening your perspective.

There is a short body-mind meditation with the zither harp before the group starts, from 11:15 -11:30 a.m., if you would like to come early for that. Please come on in and join us whenever you arrive.

This group is sponsored by the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance (COCA) with support from the Kaiser Permanente Dept. of Oncology in Lafayette, and is facilitated by Susan Hess, MA, LPC, MT-BC, licensed professional counselor. There is no charge.

Directions to Kaiser Permanente Rock Creek - Good Samaritan Medical Center Campus

Map to Kaiser Permanente Rock Creek: 280 Exempla Circle, Lafayette, CO 80026

Good Samaritan Medical Center is located in north of Denver between Broomfield and Lafayette on Highway 287 (Wadsworth). From Denver, you can take I-25 to US-36. From US-36, exit at Broomfield/Lafayette on US-287. Head north on 121/287 through the business district and beyond for approximately 3 miles. You will see the hospital complex on your right. Turn east on Campus Drive. Follow Campus Drive as it turns into Exempla Circle. Follow the circle around to the Kaiser Permanente offices building at 280 Exempla Circle. There is plenty of parking in the lot outside the building. The support group is on the lower level, in Room Aspen Creek 2.

The 3rd Annual Jodi's Race/Walk for Awareness (5k and 1 mile), benefiting the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance is Saturday, June 2, 2012 at City Park in Denver.

What: 5k Run/Walk & 1Mile Family Walk for Jodi's Race for Awareness
(supporting Ovarian Cancer)

About Jodi's Race

Jodi’s Race for Awareness has become an anual fund raising event benefiting COCA and promoting it's mission. It was the inspiration of Jodi Brammeier, a Colorado native, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008. She believed she would have caught her cancer earlier had she only been more aware of the signs and symptoms. It became her goal to raise awareness about ovarian cancer through this race so that other women might find their cancer earlier, and stand a chance to win against this deadly disease. The first race was held in June 2010, with a record number of participants for a first-time race. Unfortunately, Jodi lost her battle August, 3, 2010, less than two months after the inaugural race. St. John's Cathedral - Denver

Nicki's Circle Central Ovarian Cancer Support Group meets at St. John's Cathedral, 1350 Washington St., Denver, Room 101, the first Monday of each month from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm (except holidays - watch calendar for updates). Please feel free to bring a snack, questions, and your hopes and fears. The group offers a safe and supportive atmosphere for gaining information, expressing your concerns, sharing emotions and broadening your perspective.

Directions to St. John's Cathedral

Map to St. John's Cathedral: 1350 Washington St., Denver, CO, 80203

St. John's is located in central Denver near Colfax Ave. and Washington streets. Take I-25 to Colfax Ave. and exit going east. Take Colfax east to Washington St. (about 7 blocks east of Broadway) and turn south, go 2 blocks and you will see the big gray stone cathedral on the left. There is a parking lot in the middle of the block at 1350 Washington St., and if there is space you can park there. You will go into the Welcome Center, the glass doors facing west, 1350 Washington.

The meeting is in Room 101, down the hall on the left. I will have signs up and there should be someone at the front desk.

If there are no parking spaces available, it is okay to park in a Handicapped space. There is also another large parking lot for St. John's Cathedral in the block between 14th and Colfax. There are entrances with signs mid-block on Clarkson going north and Washington going south. The lot is located right behind Argonaut Liquors on Colfax. There is a walkway heading south toward the front of the Cathedral. Go along the west side of the church to the Welcome Center.

Nicki's Circle Ovarian Cancer Tele-Support Group

Telephone Support Group
6:30 - 8:00 pm

If you have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and would like to connect with other women, share support and gain valuable information, please join our Nicki's Circle Tele-Support Group. This group is designed especially for those who cannot make it to a support group in person or who live outside the Denver metro area. Wherever you live in Colorado, you are welcome to join the call. Please feel free to bring your questions, your hopes and your fears. The group offers a safe and supportive atmosphere for gaining information, expressing your concerns, sharing emotions and broadening your perspective.

Nicki's Circle Tele-Support Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A phone number and PIN# will be sent to you after you register for the call. We use the Calliflower Conference Call Network, which gives you the option of logging in online while you talk on the phone in order to "see" the other participants, as well as providing local dial-in numbers to avoid long distance charges.

You must register in order to join this internet-based telephone support group.
